This is an old song, almost a decade now, so I was working with limited technology, but still a classic and an obvious precursor to dubstep (listen to the grove the breaks out around 5:00).
A song written by my friend Heather Cochrane for piano.. I recorded her singing and some of the piano and rehacked it into something dark and sinister. You can hear some of our studio preparations when the dark groove arises at around 3:00.
Lyrics:
Intelligence beyond lucid capacity,
She's made of molecules of ecstacy..
It seems she's flawless to the touch
Like you could never have too much
But upon entrance of her shell
A strange Difference you can tell
A feeling of absolute perdition
And you realize that you're in no condition...
You being to lose your sense of self
She keeps it too high up on the shelf
(too high)
She reels you in with that invisible string
And when you notice you can't do anything
Into your soul she reaches so deep..
.. wanting to have you for her to keep..
Darkness surrounds you when she finally goes
Wanting her more than anybody knows
(anybody knows)
Darkness..
Darkness surrounds you.
