On this page you will find continuous mixes put together from two spinning platters. I've been performing live as a Live PA and vinyl DJ since 1998 as Dee Kaph.. and although I took about five years off while I started my family, my love and passion for dance music has only intensified. It seems patently obvious to me and surely anyone who's spent any time in the so-called "dance music scene" that dance has a profoundly spiritual relevance, a power of healing and growth, to which I personally owe a great deal and without which I would probably shit the bed. There isn't a style that I don't drop. I love music - all kinds - and believe there is a time and place for all of it. These days I use M-Audio Torq with vinyl controls - I find it to be a flexible and reliable balance between the versatility of digital with the tactility of vinyl records. When I was learning to DJ 15 years ago I would get erections thinking about how awesome the future technology would be, and now we are living it. Fuck yes. I believe the DJ should always be mixing, or they're just glorified jukeboxes. |
